Dr. Thomas Julien is an expert for production and manufacturing in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry, especially for aseptic and parenteral operations.

Thomas studied chemistry in Frankfurt, followed by a PhD in biochemistry at the Max Planck Institut für Biohysics in Frankfurt. He started his career at Dade Behring in the Business Unit Diagnostics where he held different positions, ending as a Director Manufacturing, responsible for all manufacturing units at the Marburg Site.

Following from there, he carried out executive positions in various pharmaceutical CMOs, e.g., as Operations Director to Baxter Oncology, responsible for the cytotoxic production. He was Managing Director for the Haupt Pharma Wülfing and for the Next Pharma Site in Göttingen.

Since beginning of 2017, Thomas works as a freelance consultant with focus on production, operations, Interim Management, Lean Management, reorganization and QP (Qualified Person/ Sachkundige Person nach §15 AMG) including controlled drugs.
