Markus Riester is a technology & business strategy consultant and IMD IECC Executive coach. 

Leveraging his broad technical and business background, profound experience in healthtech, diagnostics, and digital health he helps advancing organizations, he initiates and fosters change with a positive impact on individuals and teams. Main interest is to co-create optimum processes in production focused companies, set up and optimize (and digitalize) production processes, develop the product development plan, promote a dedication to using quality management system as a cornerstone for the organization and build the optimum organizational structure. He strives to create excellence by design.

As Executive Coach, Markus works with executive teams and individual executives on organizational and personal transformation.

Markus held assignments as Head of R&D, CTO and Technology Scout at various companies including AT&S, Dyconex, Biolab, Motorola and IBM. He is co-founder and was General Manager of multiple tech startups.

Markus has a PhD in Chemistry, an engineering degree in Chemical Technology, holds over 30 patents and has published more than 30 technical papers. As active business angel he serves as mentor and coach for multiple startups. He is a seasoned reviewer and Innovation Expert for the European Commission and was supervisory and strategy board member of Fraunhofer Institutes and Joanneum Research, Austria. He was awarded two prizes for innovation and entrepreneurship.
