3 years collaboration of the Healthcare Shapers
The network was founded in October 2013 at the European Business School in Rheingau, Germany, and currently comprises more than 50 active partners and over 350 associated experts and friends across the globe.Today we are one of the largest healthcare consulting practices in German-speaking Europe.
What unites us is our conviction that in the long run health systems will work only when the focus shifts to the patient with his needs. With our concentrated expertise and energy, we want to play a part in the change necessary across the healthcare industry. To this end we bring together the relevant experts in order to jointly look for new approaches and pragmatic paths to change.
Healthcare Shapers are not only extremely competent in their areas of expertise (all have many years of professional expertise and enjoy an excellent reputation in their work), but also characterized by shared values: independence, honesty, an open mind for new ideas, as well as respect, team spirit and reliability. We think entrepreneurially and act in a pragmatic and results-oriented manner. We are enthusiastic about our work. Professionalism and quality in what we do distinguish us.
Our overriding aim is to create added value: for projects we support, for the partners and clients with whom we jointly deliver projects, and for every individual who gets involved in jointly developing themes. Of course we also want to generate additional business through our work.
In the long term — besides entrepreneurial activity, the exchange of ideas and the related further development of each of our members — we would also like to initiate non-profit projects that would not be possible without our commitment.

Healthcare Shapers interviews with some of our partners
The network of the Healthcare Shapers spans a wide range of partners with deep and profound expertise in healthcare — just as wide as the entire healthcare ecosystem. Aiming to portrait this breadth, we started a series of interviews. All in German language.
Christian Milaster, an expert on telemedicine who worked for 17 years in the US, some of those at the Mayo Clinic, speaks about digitization and compares healthcare in the US and in Germany. https://vimeo.com/168482847
Ralf Jahns talks about apps and mobile health and explains why pharma companies or payor organizations are not best positioned to publish apps. https://vimeo.com/170158148
Ulrich Schwanke, a medical doctor by training was involved in creating the first internet-based physician network back in 1998. https://vimeo.com/169821207
Dr. Michael Gerards, a true expert on innovation processes, has co-founded a company dealing with virtual reality. Learn from him about visual reality applications in healthcare https://vimeo.com/170261697

eHealth: untapped opportunities in line with medication plan
According to the new German e-health law, GPs have to provide their patients receiving more than three prescription drugs a written medication plan. This shall improve safety of drug therapy (and reduce redundant prescriptions). As the eHealth card is far from full implementation, medication plans will be handed out in paper form only.
Obviously, this leads to multiple questions, e.g. who will educate patients, what role will pharmacists play, what about OTC, etc.
As Healthcare Shapers we engage with our clients to navigate in times of such uncertainty and leverage untapped opportunities.
We held a masterclass on September 6th, 2016 in Cologne which received excellent feedback from participants. Contact us to find out more.

Upcoming opportunities to meet the Healthcare Shapers
Our gatherings on a regional level are informal. We get together for drinks and a bite to eat (everybody picks up their own bill). We network, share experience, deepen our relationships. In such easy-going atmoshpere, some of our best ideas emerged. This is one way how we jointly create value for each other. And it’s fun, too!
An up to date listing on where to meet us can be found on the page TERMINE as well as on our group site on XING.

Navigating in times of digital uncertainty
Many executives in pharma and healthcare are overburdened when asked about digitalization, disruption and digital transformation. There is a lack of understanding on the one hand and an overflow of information on the other hand. Agencies, vendors, start-ups as well as all large consultancies make all kind of appealing promises but often executives don’t dare to say they have no clue about what the others are talking. And immediately, trust is fading. Are they just trying to sell or will they really help?
As Healthcare Shapers, we help you navigate in these times of uncertainty. We broker a dialogue between you and the vendors. For this, we leverage the vast experience of our international network of independent experts, consultants and service providers. We will collaborate with you to find out what is really important for you. We help you to set realistic goals and to lay out a plan that will work for you. We translate your needs into a language of those who only speak technology. And we connect you to those making it happen.
Contact us for more information and to start the dialogue at info@healthcareshapers.com.

CAPITAL nominated Hidden Champions of Consulting
The entry barriers into this competition are high and so we are very proud that CAPITAL, one of the leading German business magazines, nominated INFRONT CONSULTING as a hidden champion in consulting in the category of digitalization.
469 managers were asked who are the best consultants. In order to qualify as a hidden champion, the reputation of a consultant needed to be higher than that of McKinsey, BCG or Roland Berger.
Joerg Heydecke one of the founders and a member of the Healthcare Shapers is a creative analyst and entrepreneurially minded businessman. INFRONT and the Healthcare Shapers have developed an approach that identifies the opportunities of digitalization in healthcare.

This video (click on the yellow text) was taken in November 2014 during the “DenkWerkstatt”, a collaborative problem solving event of the Healthcare Shapers.
33 participants from different companies gathered for two days in Berlin to create innovative business models for better patient care. This video shows the intense and creative atmosphere during the event.
Contact Günther Illert (info@g-illert.de, +49 (0) 162 2343 600) to explore how a similar format might help you to leverage the wisdom of large groups to solve your complex problems.

Going Live: Implementation of Disclosure Code
The countdown is running. Pharmaceutical companies in Germany are now implementing the EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Association’s) voluntary code on disclosure of transfer of value. The disclosure code is an answer to the general trend towards greater transparency that has swept across public and corporate life. Role model for the code is the US Sunshine Act.
In January companies have started the collection of all information on payments to individual physicians and are going to publish the data from 2016 onwards. More information on implementation of Disclosure Code can be found at www.pharma-transparenz.de.
Companies are now working on implementing systems and cross-national processes to collect the data completely without any duplication. This is a complex process with the challenge of ensuring the disclosure of the accurate data, since thousands of transactions have to be monitored and consolidated, also on multinational level.
Our Healthcare Shapers member Angela Schremmer has developed a software to support companies in implementing the Disclosure Code. See more on her video.
